My commitment to you
I will
-
walk your dog for the time agreed. I will do my best to ensure that all dogs have as much fun and exercise as possible, whilst balancing differing needs if within a group.

continually risk assess before and throughout the walk, and will cut short or cancel walks if risks are too great to manage e.g. extreme weather conditions.

do my best to clean your dogs at the end of the walk (if they allow it), within the limits of a pump washer.

report any illness or incident involving your dog to you as soon as it is safe to do so
-
let dogs off the lead while on walks when they are safe to do so and with their owners’ permission.

make every effort to safeguard the security of your property and ensure the wellbeing of your dog, however will not be held liable for any loss, theft or damage your property or illness / injury to your pet unless I can be shown to be negligent.

use your keys only for the purpose of dog walks and report to you immediately should I misplace them. Keys will be returned on cessation of the dog walking service.
Walk this way Chichester is insured with Protectivity insurance for animal injuries, illness and loss of keys amongst other things. This covers you in the unlikely event that I am deemed to be negligent whilst your dog is in my care.
Client commitment
Clients will
-
leave their dog's collar, harness and towel by the door
-
maintain vaccination and flea/tick/work preventative treatment as advised by their vet.
-
inform me of any health or behavioural changes in advance of the walk.

cancel the booking if your dog is too sick to be walked and / or be around other dogs.

honour the payment and cancellation terms

take responsibility for any loss or damage caused by their dog(s) to my (or others) property
By law, all dogs must be micro-chipped and wear an identity disc with contact details displayed.
Exceptional Circumstances
Should a dog be taken ill or be injured whilst in my care, I will provide basic first aid for their welfare and safety before taking them to the nearest vet. Any vet costs that occur while your dog is in my care will be covered by the client and / or their insurance.
I cannot be held responsible for possible injury caused by your dog itself or by being attacked by another dog through their owners negligence, or through information about the dog I was not made aware of.
If your dog is not spayed or neutered and this impacts on their behaviour, they will be kept on lead.
I reserve the right to deny, cut short or terminate a service because of health, safety or financial concerns, or inappropriate conditions.
Failure to disclose any relevant information will be deemed as a breach of our agreement.
Payment and cancellation policy – regular weekly bookings
New clients who book regular weekly dog walks will pay a deposit to secure the initial booking. Thereafter clients will be invoiced at the end of the month. Payment must be made by bank transfer within 7 days of receipt of invoice.
Clients will give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel a single walk, and 28 days days notice to cancel 1 week or more walks. Otherwise full price will be charged.
Payment and cancellation policy – ad hoc bookings
It is strongly encouraged to book regular walks so your dog can settle and adapt more easily. However, if you wish to have ad hoc walks, then these must be paid for by bank transfer at the time the booking is agreed by me. These bookings will be non-refundable.
In exceptional circumstances that are well communicated with me, cancellation charges may be waived.
Agreement
Acceptance of my services through Walk this way Chichester is deemed as acceptance of the terms and conditions; including permission to provide basic first aid should it be required.
It also includes agreement to your dog to being photographed or filmed (where possible these will be shared on instagram). All images are the property of @walkthiswayChichester and can be used for any purpose without prior approval.
